EXPIRED DRINKS HERE, BEWARE! My family and I bought some drinks here on the way from Nevada and I was met with a horrible surprise. My can of Liquid Death was several months expired! I hate when mini-mart owners make these unhealthy decisions to keep expired food and drinks on the shelves in order to meet a business quota! It’s unsafe and a disservice to weary travelers. The store was clean and the clerks/owners seemed personable, however, this was not acceptable. I will most likely not purchase any food or drinks from this mini-mart again. Also, the gas was incredibly EXPENSIVE! Fill up before you reach Vidal, this is price gouging. Note: This is the ONLY restroom stop for miles! If you need to go, do it here!
Grateful to have this last stop before the 1.5-hour drive to Joshua Tree. The store was well stocked with snacks and the bathrooms were clean. There is even an outdoor seating area under a metal canopy, which would be great for cooler weathers (it is currently 114 degrees in mid June).
Well folks, say what you want about the gas prices. I believed I payed $6 or so a gallon, but if your in the middle of bumfu.. nowhere like I was, this place is a lifesaver…..I drove across this beautiful country from San Diego to VA. I was told by my cousin who drives big rigs to carry extra gas, water, tire repair and some tools. The gentleman inside this old gas station was just a guy doin his job. I quickly realized that this region is to be respected with all the oddball folks I saw. So thanks for being on the route I took like other places I encountered. A once in a lifetime driving experience that I will always remember.
This is my dedicated pit stop on the way to Kingman. Bathrooms are clean, and store is open 24 hours. Prices on everything – gas, drinks, food – are obscene, double or triple what other places charge. But it's still worth it for us to spend a few dollars here on each visit. Just try to avoid getting fuel, or anything more than a light snack. Your wallet will thank you.
I have no idea how, but this is the second time my husband and I have randomly landed at this dive*ss gas station with a California agricultural ‘border crossing’ across the street, while crossing the country from IL to western USA. But if you’re in this area and need to use the bathroom, it’s your only option. Make sure you lock your vehicle up while you’re inside. Oh, and hold your breath while in the restroom.
