Customer Reviews

While I know the intentions are good, it can be a disastrous outcome if you have grieving parents who are going through extra issues without the necessary outsource therapy. My now ex was encouraged to get rid of our son's stuff to move on. We had previously clear up his room and left meaningful memories. Among these memories where our pet ashes near to my son ashes that now are gone as he put them among a lot other stuff on our front porch for a "pick up for free" even in facebook. We do not heal at the same speed and in the same ways. SUPORT means you do not force other people to go at your speed. This is totally heart breaking and to be honest cruel. Just add to the trauma I have being working every-week with my therapist. I had noticed some unhealthy encouragement ( that while I do not want to think was from the therapists but from other parents ) I though supporting him going to the group it was a way to give some space to his grieving because he did not want to go to a therapist. Pease be aware !

This place will do absolutely nothing for your grief and waitlist you for close to a year before you actually participate in a group. They provide absolutely no direction on what to do with your grief and just waste your time. I’m better off sorting out through my own emotions because this experience was just a nightmare.

I've heard this place is great but my experience trying to get information was anything but. If their wait-list is 6-9 months, they should LEAD with that in the conversation. What they shouldn't do ask someone that recently lost a love one to relieve the trauma by phone, only to tell them 15 minutes into the call that grief support isn't available until months later. It's dangerous to play this game with people in crisis.

Our House helped me get through the most difficult time in my life — losing my baby sister who was my best friend. Their facilitators were kind, loving and compassionate and made the meetings feel safe and non-judgmental. I especially loved the visioning board that they suggested we create for our loved ones that we had lost, which was extremely therapeutic. I love that they have specific groups. I was in a group for individuals who had lost a sibling. Without hesitation, I have recommended them to friends who have lost a loved one.

I volunteered at two camps this past summer. I didn't think that my second visit to Camp Erin could possibly top my first experience, but I was pleasantly surprised. Both weekends left me feeling hopeful, appreciative, and fulfilled. I learned new things about the grief process every day through my experiences with the kids, and I continue to be blown away by their resilience. Our House's efforts should not go unnoticed – the staff do a phenomenal job at providing the kids with a fun and safe space to deal with their grief. I am literally counting down the days until Camp Erin 2017!
