On 2/5/2025 at around 9:30 pm I was detained here for suspected drug smuggling. There was no reason at all for them to believe that other than me being judged on my appearance. I drove through their second check point and they asked me to park in their screening area. I was asked to step out of my vehicle and was not allowed to take my phone. They sent me to a waiting area where I looked on at what seemed to be about 4-5 officers. Their dog gave a 'signal' apparently and then I was approached by 3 of them, they asked me to put my hands behind my back as they arrested me. I was then escorted inside for a 'pat down' where they asked me further questions. They removed my shoes and my belongings, my gold chain being one of them. Mind you this chain is very small, I've had it since I was a teen… I finally asked what this was all about and they said that their dog gave a signal for drugs, and that it happens all the time and if I was clean I would be free to go. About 30 minutes passed where I was sitting on a bench cuffed at my ankle on a bench inside. There was one guy who came in and again asked me to stand up and turn around, he uncuffed my ankle and then said I was free to go. I believe there was a sense of them attempting to intimidate me. Whatever the case, I wish them all the best and hope they are always honest and act with integrity. As Americans, the integrity piece is slowly fading. Final note, my gold chain was never returned.
2.5 hours to cross the border with secondary inspection. At least you get a metal bench in the caged waiting area as they have dogs jump in your car. Yep, drug dogs go in the car, not just the outside.
Super RACIST!!! We had an appointment for SENTRI and was not getting helped what so ever. But once a Caucasian couple went up with no appointment, no proper paper work for it, and people who go through this process know how stubborn these officials are. But the official helped them out without hesitation! My appointment was in about a month for myself and asked if I can get helped too cause we had the appointment for my newborn. But with an angered face and discus, they said “NOâ€Â! Don’t go to this location, they are very RACIST here.
